Administrator’s Corner

Hello Everyone!

I hope you’re all enjoying the summer – I’m ready for cool days again!  Thanks to all who came out to support us in August especially for Western Days.  Ace and David did a GREAT job on the food and everyone really enjoyed the day.

For September we have a really great calendar lined up – it’s time again for our annual CHILI COOKOFF & Salsa contest.  While I don’t have a name yet, we’ll be looking at having live entertainment in the Social Quarters right after the cookoff.  Later in the month we’ll have our new member orientation followed by Susie’s spaghetti and our CAKEOFF!!!  Bring your best cake for the contest.  Our Senior Regent is hinting at this event being in the spirit of a THROWDOWN!  Be prepared to bring it on!

Ready for football?  MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL at the lodge!  Hot dogs and drink specials.  Come on down and have some fun!  Who wants to cook on Mondays anyway…

Monday the 6^th is Labor Day and we’re planning a pot luck at the lodge in the afternoon.  The lodge Moose Legion Committee will pick up the tab for the burgers, dogs & buns.  Please bring a salad or dessert to share.  No Charge!

They’re back – the 1^st Tuesday of every month we host the Orange County Puppetry Guild in the back.  They do shows, crafts, all sorts of goodies and we’re ALL welcome!  They generally get started around 7PM and they REALLY like it when folks bring down the kids.  It’s free to attend and they would like to share their talents with you.

COMING UP:  We will have a chance to show what we can do for our communities starting with the annual Mooseheart and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles poker fundraiser.  In November and December we’ll be looking at food and clothing drives.  There are lots of people out there that need your help and the Moose is a great way to facilitate that.  Start gathering up clothes, etc.  We’ll have more info on that later.

Check your calendars for all the great food and activities we have going on every month and come down and be a part of it!  And remember to say THANK YOU to all of the volunteers on our lodge that keep it going for us!
