Administrator’s Corner

Hi all!  Here we are in MARCH already!  This is the month we will nominate next year’s Board of Officers.  I am pleased to note that I have received a number of applications already.  Please consider joining in the race!  We need officers and Committee chairpersons to make this Moose thing work right.  Our chairpersons will also need committee MEMBERS!

This month will also feature a BIG event for St Patty’s day.  We’ll have a band and a ‘traditional’ corned beef & cabbage dinner.  There’s more!  If you don’t like that dinner we’ll also offer my ‘redneck’ Pork Loin Roast – with GRAVY for anyone who wants that instead.  The tickets will be on sale by March 1^st and will be very LIMITED by the setup in the back.  We will have assigned seating – buy early and get the best seats!  We DO NOT plan to have tickets available for those who don’t want dinner – we plan to SELL OUT of the event!  DON’T GET LEFT OUT!  We need lots & lots of volunteers to make this happen.  Please help.  A list will be posted.

Also this month Dan starts his daily lunches (Mon thru Thur).  His sandwiches are the BEST!  You won’t get a better deal anywhere.  We will also be having Saturday food – at least once we’ll have RUBEN sandwiches!  Check the board out front or call down to find out what we’ll be fixin’ for y’all.

I am seriously looking for people to help in the kitchen! We need team members!  Especially for keeping up with dishes during a meal (we all pitch in for the final cleanup).  It’s work for sure but it’s also a lot of fun to share accomplishments with friends.

As usual I wish we would all take a minute to say THANK YOU to our many volunteers.  These include our bartenders, the kitchen crews, Susie for ALL the shopping and things she does as a volunteer, and to those who do all the little things that keep us going every day.  THANK YOU!

Oh I almost forgot – there is confusion sometimes about our breakfasts, etc.  There is very little room to write everything on the calendar.  When we list our breakfasts we generally list the special for the day.  Unless otherwise noted, EVERY breakfast we do includes our FULL menu!  There’s GOTTA be something on there you like!

DID YOU KNOW…

One important reason Moose prices are so low is that we do not pay income tax.  That isn’t the only reason!  We can price our drinks and food so low because we have limited or no payroll and rely heavily on VOLUNTEERS!  This is YOUR lodge and you are empowered to help in any way you can to help keep things in shape and in good repair.  It is NOT the job of the Admin, Governor or other officers to change light bulbs and hand towels (examples).  It is everyone’s “job”!  If we had to HIRE everything done, even the little stuff, you would see some VERY stiff price increases!
